Job summary

Southwest Mobile Storage, Inc. seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function and partner with the executive team on strategy and profitability. The role oversees GAAP compliance, close processes, payroll, tax, and audits, with focus on KPIs and dashboards to drive growth.

The position reports to leadership and collaborates across Operations, Sales, HR, and finance to improve controls and scalability in a fast‑growing, multi‑location environment. Onsite in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, revenue recognition, lease accounting, fixed assets, and internal controls.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership to influence decisions through analysis.
• Track record of leading process improvements and scalable accounting controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting functions including GL, close, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll, accruals, tax compliance, audits, and multi‑state processes.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting for executive decision support.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance profitability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, HR, and senior management to meet goals.
