Job summary

Steffes Group in Fargo, ND seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls in a growing organization. You will oversee GAAP-compliant close processes, treasury activities, and asset accounting while partnering with leadership on strategy and growth.

The role requires seven+ years in progressive accounting leadership, CPA preferred, and a proven track record in ERP systems and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Seven or more years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
• Experience leading close processes, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial process automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain GAAP-compliant reporting and internal control framework.
• Manage banking activity, cash management, and treasury.
• Lead and develop the accounting team and drive system/process improvements.
