Job summary

The Chimes District of Columbia, Inc. in Baltimore seeks an experienced Controller to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensure accurate financial statements, and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.

You will supervise accounting staff and partner with leadership on financial reporting and compliance. This role requires a CPA, a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 10+ years in accounting with leadership, and experience overseeing multi-entity operations, audits, and

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience leading accounting teams and complex financial operations.
Experience with multi-entity organizations and audits.
Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Ensure timely preparation and distribution of accurate financial statements and management reports.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Analyze financial results and explain variances to budget, forecast, and prior year.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support accurate reporting.
