Job summary

Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company is seeking an experienced accounting leader to manage the financial reporting function, close processes, and internal controls. You will oversee accounting staff, payroll, fixed assets, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements in Towson, MD.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive decision-support analytics, support external audits, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CPA required.
• Ten years of accounting experience.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Experience supporting external audits and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Leads month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Oversees internal controls and financial policies.
• Supports Board and Executive reporting with quarterly packages.
• Manages accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Interfaces with auditors and regulators on financial reporting.
