Job summary

Sterling Foods is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to turn financial data into meaningful business insights. You will analyze performance across revenue, costs, capex, and KPIs, building models and reports to help leadership understand what happened, why, and what to do next.

You will partner with leaders to develop budgets and rolling forecasts, identify opportunities, and translate findings into clear recommendations.

Sterling Foods is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst who is curious, analytical, and energized by turning financial data into meaningful business insights. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and play a key role in helping leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, manage risk, and make smarter decisions.

You'll go beyond the numbers. You'll help us understand what happened, why it happened, what may happen next, and what we can do about it.

Working across revenue, costs, capital expenditures, and key business metrics, you'll develop analyses and financial models that give our leadership team the insight they need to move the business forward.

What You'll Do

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the development of annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts.
• Partner with leaders across the organization to understand business drivers and financial assumptions.
• Help identify emerging trends and opportunities that could impact future performance.

Performance & Business Analysis

• Analyze current and historical trends across key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Investigate variances and identify the "why" behind the numbers.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations for management.

Financial Modeling & Scenario Planning

• Build, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models to support strategic business initiatives.
• Develop "what-if" scenarios to help leadership evaluate opportunities, risks, and potential outcomes.
• Turn complex data into clear, decision-ready information.

Reporting & Executive Insights

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for management.
• Highlight significant variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
• Develop presentations and analysis that clearly communicate financial performance and business trends to leadership.

Market & Industry Intelligence

• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and relevant competitor performance.
• Provide external context that helps Sterling Foods better understand its financial performance and competitive position.
• Identify trends and opportunities that may influence future business results.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify opportunities to make financial reporting and analysis more efficient, accurate, and scalable.
• Help automate recurring reporting and analytical processes.
• Champion improvements that reduce manual effort and allow the finance team to spend more time on insight and strategy-not spreadsheets.
