Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a Financial Analyst III to provide financial analysis and support to the Code Enforcement & Compliance division. You will manage budgets, forecast financial outcomes, and collaborate with multi-department teams.

The role involves building Power BI dashboards, analyzing performance metrics, and developing financial models to inform management decisions. Strong communication and Excel skills required; on-site work at 1002 Washington Ave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field is required.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or a closely related area are required.
• A Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis and support to the Code Enforcement & Compliance division.
• Manage operations budget across multiple funds and forecast financial impacts.
• Build and manage Power BI dashboards and analyze performance measures.
• Develop financial models for data-driven recommendations and forecasting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and accompanying explanatory text.
• Coordinate annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for assigned areas.
