Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking an Accounting Manager in Denver to lead payroll processes and supervise payroll staff. The role interfaces with HR on new hires, status changes, and benefits, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws while supporting month-end close and financial reporting.

The position requires a accounting degree with several years of experience, strong leadership and Excel skills, and a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting or related experience of five years or more.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proficient with Excel.
• Experience in transportation industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the process and distribution of weekly payroll.
• Interface with Human Resources regarding hires, status changes, and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, Federal and State legal requirements.
• Prepare journal entries, accounts payable, and month-end close activities.
• Provide financial support to General Manager and regional controllers.
• Lead payroll audits and year-end W-2 distributions.
