Job summary

Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP) is seeking a Director of Finance to lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting and compliance for a nonprofit organization. You will supervise finance and operations teams, manage cash flow, and collaborate with the Education Finance Department.

The role requires strategic thinking, nonprofit accounting expertise, and effective communication with the Board and committees. A strong benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in finance or operations.
• Experience in nonprofit environments and governance.
• Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and compliance.
• Experience with NYS CFRS, NYS CBR, and government grant reporting.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Lawson.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term financial strategies including budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
• Oversee financial reporting and accounting in nonprofit GAAP.
• Ensure CFRS, CBR reporting, and grant compliance.
• Supervise HR, IT, facilities, and vendor management.
• Collaborate with education finance on cash flow and banking relations.
• Lead finance and operations teams; mentor staff for accountability.
• Work with risk management to ensure proper insurance coverage.
• Serve as liaison to Board and Finance & Audit Committee with updates.
• Evaluate and improve financial systems and processes for efficiency.
