Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Finance Manager at Stratton Mountain Resort to lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. You will partner with resort leadership to guide capital investments and long-range planning, ensuring disciplined financial execution across departments.

The role focuses on forward-looking financial management, variance analysis, and ROI assessments, enabling strategic decisions to drive sustainable results year-round.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Demonstrated experience leading annual budgeting and forecasting processes in a complex, multi-department environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L management, capital planning, and financial performance analysis.
• Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and department heads to influence business decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience in hospitality, resort operations, tourism, retail, or other seasonal business environments preferred.
• Experience supporting capital investment decisions, including ROI and post-investment analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual operating and capital budgeting processes in partnership with department leaders.
• Manage monthly forecasting and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and capital spending.
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate strategic initiatives, capital projects, and growth opportunities through financial modeling and ROI analysis.
• Conduct post-investment reviews to assess performance and inform future planning.
• Develop and enhance financial reporting tools, systems, and processes.
• Partner with leadership, department heads, and Corporate Development to provide financial guidance, business insights, and ad hoc analysis.
