Job summary

Wells Group in New York seeks a Finance Manager with 5+ years of experience to lead client engagements for startups and mid-sized companies. You will manage financial reporting, close processes, and provide strategic insights to support decision making and performance improvement.

The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, superb communication, and the ability to work across FP&A, accounting, and client teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Active CPA required.
• MBA from a top university a plus.
• Experience with US GAAP and ERP systems.
• 5+ years of finance/consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Lead month-end close for multiple clients.
• Ensure data integrity and internal controls.
• Analyze variances vs. plan and prior periods.
• Coordinate external audits and respond to requests.
• Develop company-wide KPIs and internal controls.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounts Payable, IT, and Marketing.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Oversee junior staff and review work.
