Job summary

NC State University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks a Manager for Business and Financial Operations to drive strategic fiscal planning and high-level financial health for the department. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related area with accounting coursework and at least three years of professional accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
• Senior-level financial management, budgeting, and analysis in a complex university or corporate environment.
• Direct supervisory experience over fiscal/administrative staff and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of 3–5 year financial modeling and revenue-generating units.
• Fluency with ERP financial systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial planning and multi-year forecasting for the department.
• Oversee budget construction and position management in alignment with college leadership.
• Deliver executive-level financial reporting and variance analytics.
• Coordinate with research administration hubs for post-award and pre-award activities.
• Provide financial guidance to department leadership and faculty on sustainability and funding.
