Job summary

Regions in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Financial Manager to provide accounting and financial strategic support to business unit leaders. You will perform forecasting, budgeting, month-end close, and external filings to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role also requires governance, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration with risk, internal audit, and regulators. A strong focus on process improvements and team leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Six (6) years of finance experience and experience managing groups or functions.
• MBA and/or CPA are preferred depending on responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs financial analysis and reporting including forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close.
• Plans and directs the production of reporting packages and external filings.
• Ensures governance activities and financial controls are followed.
• Acts as day-to-day contact with risk, internal audit, auditors, regulators, or stakeholders.
• Keeps current on accounting/regulatory changes and business events impacting the bank.
• Identifies opportunities for new systems and process improvements.
• Owns vendor relationships and oversees cost-effective operations of systems.
• May lead a small team in day-to-day activities.
