Job summary

Stratton Mountain Resort, part of Alterra Mountain Company, is seeking a Finance Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for the resort. You will partner with resort leadership to drive financial discipline and guide capital investments.

This full-time, year-round role offers a competitive compensation band and opportunities to influence strategy across departments in a seasonal hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience leading annual budgeting and forecasting in a multi-department environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L management, capital planning, and performance analysis.
• Proven experience partnering with senior leaders to influence decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, and data platforms.
• Hospitality, resort operations, tourism, retail, or seasonal business exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual operating and capital budgeting processes with department leaders.
• Manage monthly forecasting and analyze revenue, expenses, and capital spending.
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses for decision-making.
• Evaluate strategic initiatives and ROI for capital projects.
• Conduct post-investment reviews to inform future planning.
• Develop and enhance financial reporting tools and processes.
• Provide financial guidance and ad hoc analysis to leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
