Job summary

Bedrock Ocean Exploration seeks a seasoned VP of Finance to lead the finance and accounting functions, reporting to the CEO and guiding FP&A, treasury, and risk management. You will scale financial processes, deliver board-ready reporting, and drive fundraising with venture capital partners while building a lean, effective team.

You'll own budgeting, forecasting, monthly/quarterly/annual closing, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning across R&D, operations, and go-to-market

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent certification (e.g., CPA or CFA)
• 10+ years of experience in senior finance roles.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and practices, including accrual accounting.
• Extensive experience with financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, including creative financial engineering.
• Own all aspects of Finance operations, including: monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, forecasts, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, and procurement.
• Timely and accurately provide reporting of financial information to internal parties, regulators and outside agencies.
• Maintain a detailed financial operating model and provide oversight to the management team.
• Lead and develop a lean finance and accounting team.
• Own financial storytelling for board, investors, and lenders.
• Own the risk management function for the company and ensure regulatory compliance.
