Job summary

Matilda Cloud in Richardson, TX is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to build and scale a finance function in a fast-growing AI-driven cloud company. You will oversee FP&A, accounting, treasury, and AI-enabled finance initiatives, partnering with the CEO and Board to shape strategy, pricing, and fundraising.

Qualifications

• Experience building or significantly maturing a finance function at a B2B SaaS or enterprise software company.
• Strong foundation in both accounting and FP&A — you can toggle between strategic and operational finance.
• Track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams.
• Expertise implementing and operating financial systems and technology that scale — ERP, FP&A platform, billing, equity.
• Deep SaaS metrics fluency — ARR, NRR, GRR, CAC, payback, cohort retention, unit economics.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial insights into business recommendations leadership can act on.
• Excellent communication skills — effective with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the Board.
• Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead FP&A with budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling to align with the plan.
• Own the SaaS metric stack (ARR, NRR, GRR, CAC) to inform decisions beyond monthly reporting.
• Develop unit economics and segmentation analysis to guide investments.
• Partner with sales, marketing, product, and engineering to translate finance insights into action.
• Build robust accounting operations, close calendar, controls, and audit readiness.
• Establish reporting frameworks for Board, investors, and external audits.
• Manage cash forecasting, runway planning, and fundraising materials.
