Job summary

Spring Grove Cemetery & Funeral Homes seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to direct the accounting and finance functions, ensuring GAAP compliance and strategic financial leadership for the organization.

The CFO will oversee budgeting, reporting, internal controls, tax, audits, and partnerships with the CEO, board, and senior management, while mentoring the finance team and driving long-range planning.

• Master’s degree and CPA or equivalent with 10+ years as CFO.
• Experience with ERP and core systems and MS 365.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Develop and evaluate accounting personnel and team performance.
• Lead annual budgeting process and financial planning.
• Enforce policies for controls including cash, payroll, and financing.
• Manage bank relationships and cash position strategies.
• Oversee pre-need trust deposits and endowment activity.
• Refine finance department structure for efficiency.
• Provide cost analysis of services and products.
• Coordinate tax reporting for Spring Grove entities.
• Work with external auditors for timely financial audits.
• Contribute to strategic planning at senior management level.
• Advise on long-range planning, risk, profitability, and capital.
• Provide financial input on contracts and potential mergers or acquisitions.
