Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy for one of its facilities. The role requires deep hospital accounting/finance expertise, strategic planning, and strong leadership to drive budgeting, capital planning, and performance improvements.

The CFO will oversee revenue cycle operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and report to the Governing Board, shaping financial policies and long-term enterprise value for the hospital network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance or closely related field.
• Extensive knowledge of Health Care Accounting practices and principles.
• Progressively responsible position in the Accounting profession.
• Five to seven years experience in hospital accounting/finance; two years in management preferred.
• Management of hospital financial issues related to budgeting, cash management, capital finance, and performance evaluations.
• Proficiency with end-to-end hospital revenue cycle operations.
• In depth knowledge of insurance matters, regulations, reimbursement, information systems and plant operations.
• Familiarity with computer accounting programs.
• CPA preferred.
• Membership and active participation in ACHE and/or other professional organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all policies and procedures established by the Governing Board in line with hospital philosophy.
• Presenting to the Governing Board or committees periodic reports of the hospital's financial activities.
• Organizing and influencing department activities and maintaining financial records per GAAP.
• Preparing annual operating capital expenditure and cash flow budgets for approval.
• Supervising financial affairs to ensure funds are used efficiently within budgets.
• Setting realistic goals and measuring outcomes to drive performance.
• Demonstrating flexibility in work schedule and assignments to meet priorities.
• Using analytical tools to resolve complex problems across contexts.
• Identifying problems and contributing to performance improvement.
• Linking processes, events, and systems to balance detail with big-picture thinking.
