Job summary

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University seeks a Director of Fiscal and Business Operations to provide financial and HR leadership and day-to-day operational management for the School. This senior role reports to the Dean and coordinates finance, HR and operations across the School.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years managing FP&A or comparable finance/budget function.
• Experience managing Budget, Finance and HR functions in higher education or large private sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct all annual planning and budgeting processes, including salary planning, forecasting, monthly reporting and revenue forecasting.
• Manage the School's all-funds budget, expenditures and personnel actions; track budget changes and commitments.
• Lead the fiscal year-end close process and respond to internal audit requests.
• Oversee accounts payable, reimbursements, purchasing, and other financial transactions for the School.
• Coach, mentor, train and supervise financial and administrative staff.
• Serve as primary HR advisor to college management and staff on policies, payroll and benefits.
