Job summary

ASU Foundation in Arizona is seeking a Development Officer for the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication to implement a leadership and annual giving program, identifying and securing gifts up to $25,000.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, you will partner with Cronkite and ASU Foundation colleagues to grow the annual and major donor pipeline, while meeting financial goals and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or currently enrolled in bachelor's degree program.
  • One to three years of successful development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in securing major gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other private funding sources.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing long- and short-range development initiatives in conjunction with strategic planning processes.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and experience in managing events and other complex activities in support of development objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with donors and prospects to secure annual and multi-year gifts up to $25,000.
  • Develop customized donor engagement strategies tied to Cronkite School priorities.
  • Collaborate with Cronkite, ASUF and university partners on solicitations and stewardship.
  • Coordinate events and activities to foster donor relationships and ongoing engagement.
  • Coordinate with research and prospect management to move donors into the major gift pipeline.
  • Assist in planning and execution of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism.
