Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) seeks a Director of Finance and Grants to lead financial operations and grant management. The role oversees a $9M budget, maintains strong accounting systems, and ensures grant reporting aligns with funder requirements.

The position involves strategic planning, board reporting, audits, and close collaboration with program teams to ensure compliant, transparent financial management across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Minimum five years in financial leadership, nonprofit finance, or grant management.
• Experience with private and government grants is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to support organizational decisions.
• Supervise finance and grants staff and foster accuracy and collaboration.
• Prepare quarterly financial reports for leadership and board.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to OMB Uniform Guidance.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across programs and grants.
• Monitor cash flow, treasury, and restricted funds reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits, Single Audits, and tax filings.
• Support grant forecasting, invoicing, and closeout processes.
