Job summary

The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board seeks a Finance Director to steer its financial engine in service of statewide affordable housing and conservation work. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll direct daily fiscal operations, mentor the finance team, and assure the integrity of multi-fund revenues, including major federal awards.

You will lead the annual audit cycle, shape budgeting and financial modeling, oversee a substantial loan portfolio, and coordinate with banking

Qualifications

• Requires CPA or equivalent and deep knowledge of nonprofit or governmental fund accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal Uniform Administrative Guidance.
• Proven track record of clean audits and confident team leadership.

The Finance Director steers the financial engine behind Vermont Housing and Conservation Board’s statewide affordable housing and conservation work. Reporting to the Chief Financial Offcer and serving as their strategic
backup, you’ll direct daily fiscal operations, supervise and mentor the finance team, and ensure the integrity of multi-fund revenue streams, including major federal awards. You’ll lead the annual audit cycle, shape organizational budgeting and financial modeling, oversee a substantial loan portfolio, and liaise with banking partners and state financial systems.
