Job summary

Got Light, a premier event and wedding production company, seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting in San Francisco. You will lead financial operations for ~110 employees, partnering with ownership and executives to steer planning, analytics, and strategic decisions.

You’ll drive budgeting, forecasting, closes, and KPI development while mentoring the accounting team and ensuring GAAP compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership of accounting or FP&A functions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cash flow management, and financial modeling.
• Proven ability to oversee both day-to-day accounting operations and high-level strategic planning.
• Skilled with QuickBooks, ADP Workforce Now, and ERP/BI software.

Responsibilities

• Partner with ownership and executive leadership, providing financial insights and data-backed recommendations.
• Analyze profitability, pricing, and key business trends, offering actionable recommendations.
• Lead annual budget planning with department heads to align with strategy and targets.
• Conduct analysis on performance, revenue mix, and cost efficiency to improve margins.
• Provide forward-looking planning including cash flow forecasting and scenario planning.
• Lead monthly/annual closes, producing financial statements and cash flow projections.
• Collaborate to define KPIs and metrics to measure profitability and efficiency.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll, treasury, and vendor payments, ensuring accuracy.
• Manage GAAP-compliant records and timely month-end/year-end closes.
• Mentor Accounting Manager and staff; oversee accounting function.
