Job summary

Chemring Sensors and Electronic Systems in North Carolina seeks a Director of Finance to lead all accounting, FP&A, and financial planning. You will manage day-to-day financial operations and shape long-term strategy.

The role collaborates with senior management, ensures compliance with GAAP and government contracting rules, and drives cost optimization and cash management. A CPA/MBA background and extensive finance leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience
• Active CPA and/or MBA preferred
• 10-15 years of relevant Finance and Accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility; minimum of 5 years in a Government Contracting environment
• Experience developing forward pricing rates and forecasting preferred
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to ensure long-term wellbeing and growth.
• Identify and implement budgeting, forecasting and cost allocation methods; analyze financial feasibility of projects.
• Prepare annual budgets and long-range projections; establish cash flow budgets and targets; monitor performance and adjust as needed.
• Oversee monthly financial reports, audits, procurement policies, and tax reporting for compliance.
• Interface with senior management across units to align financial goals.
• Develop forward pricing rate proposals and incurred cost submissions.
• Direct interface with internal and external auditors.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, CAS, and tax regulations.
• Lead special projects and ensure compliance with government and corporate policies.
