Job summary

Association for Talent Development (ATD) in Alexandria, VA, seeks a Senior Finance Director to lead financial strategy, planning, and operations, reporting to the President & CEO and serving on the Senior Leadership Team. You will guide budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support mission-critical priorities.

You will oversee accounting, treasury, contracts, compliance, and risk management, and drive process improvements with a focus on nonprofit governance and long-term

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant team leadership and organizational financial management responsibility.
• Experience leading accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial planning and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial advisor to the CEO and Senior Leadership team, recommending actions to improve performance and support long-term sustainability.
• Evaluate the financial risks and returns of organizational initiatives, investments, pricing, staffing, and new business opportunities.
• Prepare and present financial results, analyses, and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Oversee accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and monthly and annual close.
