Job summary

The Foundation at New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks a strategic, mission-driven Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and operations for a dynamic nonprofit. As a key member of the Foundation’s leadership team, you will ensure financial integrity, operational excellence, and sustainable growth while aligning resources to advance the Foundation’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within a nonprofit, foundation, or similarly complex environment.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders.
• At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial oversight of the Foundation’s annual budget and related financial operations.
• Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
• Develop multi-year financial projections and internal controls to ensure long-term sustainability.
• Oversee development and maintenance of strong internal controls and adherence to financial reporting practices and regulations.
• Serve as the primary financial liaison between University Finance staff and Foundation leadership.
