Job summary

California School Boards Association (CSBA) is seeking a Senior Director of Finance and Accounting to lead multiple entities’ accounting functions and drive accurate financial reporting. The role reports to the CFO and guides budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close while coordinating annual audits.

The position supports a hybrid work schedule with at least three days in the West Sacramento office and two days remote, offering leadership of a high-performing team and collaboration with senior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field with five years of progressive accounting experience (including payroll).
• Four years of supervisory/management experience.
• CMA certification and/or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily functions and activities of the Finance and Accounting division.
• Leads budgeting, forecasting, and year-end close processes.
• Manages payroll processing and oversees accounts payable/receivable.
• Ensures integrity of the general ledger and prepares financial statements.
• Coordinates annual audits and prepares management work papers.
• Develops and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
