Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates seeks a Controller in Plainville, CT to direct accounting and financial reporting, ensuring GAAP/IFRS compliance, strong controls, and timely financial information. You’ll guide forecasting, performance analysis, and risk management to support strategic decisions.

You will lead the accounting department, oversee payroll, AR/AP, and the general ledger, and coordinate internal/external audits, while promoting a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least ten years’ finance related experience in engineering, construction, professional services or another project-based business, and at least five years management experience.
• Demonstrated experience with project accounting, revenue recognition, WIP, forecasting and working-capital management.
• Advanced degree and/or a CPA would be pluses.
• Proven success in leading financial operations in a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Direct financial reporting and accounting oversight.
• Oversee project accounting, revenue recognition, WIP and closeouts.
• Prepare GAAP/IFRS financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Maintain general ledger, payables, receivables, and payroll processes.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Analyze variances and provide insights for corrective action.
• Coordinate audits and ensure tax compliance.
• Design and monitor internal controls; risk management.
• Lead accounting department and oversee subsidiary operations.
