Job summary

AI Engineers, Inc. in Middletown, CT seeks a Controller to lead accounting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance. This on-site role collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive financial strategy and ensure regulatory adherence.

The ideal candidate has a strong corporate finance background, preference for experience in architecture/engineering or construction services, and a track record of process improvement and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
• Master's degree in business or finance preferred.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Experience with Ajera or Deltek accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and tax compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets and forecasts with GAAP compliance.
• Develop cash management policies and oversee investments per policy.
• Install and maintain internal controls to support policies and state/federal requirements.
• Lead budget development, monitoring and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with auditors and external accounting services for regulatory standards.
• Utilize integrated financial systems for reporting and process improvement.
• Partner with operations, procurement and management to support cost control and profitability.
