Job summary

Edgewood is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting, reporting, internal controls, audit, and tax functions. This role oversees a high-performing team, strengthens financial processes, and partners with leadership to ensure accurate statutory and donor reporting.

The ideal candidate has deep nonprofit experience and CPA/CMA preferred. The position is full-time, hybrid, located in San Francisco, with a base pay of $150,000 to $160,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• B.A. in Finance/Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant nonprofit experience.
• 5 years of supervisory experience and cross-functional teamwork.
• CPA or CMA preferred; strong reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting team and ensure monthly/annual close and reporting.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and GAAP compliance.
• Oversee audits, tax filings, and funding compliance objectives.
• Collaborate across departments to enhance reporting accuracy.
• Manage NetSuite system enhancements and payroll structure.
• Prepare budgets and support cost reporting for programs.
