Job summary

Jobot in Oklahoma City is seeking a permanent Controller to lead the finance department for a growing nonprofit. You will oversee corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic financial decisions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred), CPA/CMA/CA, 5+ years in finance within complex organizations, and a proven track record of delivering accurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA).
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience with a track record in managing finance within a complex organization.
• Proven working experience as a Financial controller in the Finance industry.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
• Experience with financial reporting and tax preparation.
• Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
• Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
• Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
• Communicate financial metrics to senior management and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.
• Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner and propose strategies to minimize the impact.
• Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with the local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations.
