Job summary

The University of Mount Saint Vincent is seeking a Director for Finance and Budget to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for the university. You will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Finance and senior leadership to support strategic decisions and financial sustainability.

This full-time, onsite role requires a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, 7+ years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibility, and proficiency in Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, and/or CPA highly desirable.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and people skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with AI tools, particularly Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with nonprofit or higher education financial systems preferred; knowledge of Banner Finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Budget Development & Management: Develop and oversee the University's budget, long-range financial planning, and forecasts.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Provide analyses, monitor trends, prepare KPI reports, and support audits.
• Supervision & Collaboration: Lead and coordinate with Controller, Associate Controller, General Accounting, and other departments; support external audits.
