Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a dynamic Pre-Construction Field Procurement Manager in Irving, TX to lead relationships between field offices and suppliers, develop installation cost models, and select subcontractors. You will drive supplier development, contract management, and pricing strategies for HVAC projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales, cost analysis, and procurement processes across branch offices, with a competitive salary range and bonus plan.

Qualifications

• Electrical industry experience or a bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience in building systems or operational processes is preferred.
• Design-build construction and HVAC experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to work with Sales and cross-functional teams.
• Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
• 5–8 years as a project manager with estimating experience in HVAC Controls construction or trades.
• Procurement experience focused on construction/HVAC with cost analysis and strong financial knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales during project development to own Subcon installation pricing.
• Determine Subcon strategy and review total project SOW.
• Use Estimating Tools to develop baseline Subcon installation pricing.
• Source all third-party subcontractor quotes.
• Review customer documents to ensure JCI contract provisions to subcontractors.
• Develop, host, and review all RFPs.
• Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
