Job summary

Istari is seeking a Government Affairs Associate to advance the company's federal strategy, secure funding, and build relationships across Congress, federal agencies, and strategic partners.

You will prepare leaders for high-impact engagements, support business development, coordinate events, and create briefing materials while collaborating with policy, marketing, product, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, congressional offices, federal agencies, lobbying, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, International Affairs, Communications, or related discipline.
• Understanding of Congress, the Executive Branch, and federal policymaking processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex policy and technical information.
• Strong research, analytical, organizational, and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Experience preparing briefing materials, policy summaries, meeting memoranda, or executive correspondence.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, independently and collaboratively.
• Experience interacting with congressional staff, federal officials, senior executives, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of federal government affairs strategy by engaging with Congress, federal agencies, and partners.
• Monitor legislation, appropriations, and policy developments; provide concise analysis and recommendations.
• Research Members of Congress, committees, federal agencies, and industry organizations to inform engagement strategies.
• Prepare briefing materials, hearing memos, talking points, and executive correspondence for senior leadership.
• Coordinate meetings and outreach with congressional offices, agencies, customers, and partners.
• Support business development by identifying federal engagement opportunities and strengthening relationships.
