Job summary

GSA is seeking an Accountant to perform complex accounting and financial management functions across multiple locations, including Atlanta, GA. The role involves analyzing reports, developing standard General Ledger posting models, and coordinating policy changes in line with GAO, Treasury, and OMB guidance.

Ideal candidates will hold an accounting degree with 24 hours in accounting and may possess CPA certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 in business law)
• One of: CPA or CIA certification or equivalent combination with accounting coursework and experience
• Ability to draft policy changes and provide guidance to management

Responsibilities

• Review financial and management reports and advise officials on trends
• Develop or revise reporting formats and posting models in the accounting system
• Coordinate resolution of accounting issues arising from legislation, regulations and standards
• Maintain relationships with OCFO and program offices for reporting systems
• Prepare reports and respond to congressional and agency inquiries
