Job summary

GSA is seeking an Accountant to perform complex accounting and financial management functions within the Office of Financial Operations. The role involves overseeing cash management, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, with multiple vacancies across several locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GAO/Treasury/OMB-aligned procedures and be adept at developing reporting formats and GL models to ensure accurate financial information for executives and programs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review financial/management reports and advise on trends and adjustments; develop GL posting models.
• Coordinate resolution of accounting issues due to changes in law/regulations; propose procedural changes.
• Participate in research to design accounting policies and update handbooks/regulations for program needs.
• Maintain relationships with OCFO and program offices to improve reporting systems.
• Create reports for senior management and respond to congressional and agency inquiries.

Education

Accounting degree with 24 semester hours in accounting

CPA or CIA certification
