Job summary

GSA is seeking an Accountant to perform complex accounting and financial management functions across multiple programs. The role involves reviewing and advising on financial trends, developing reporting models, and ensuring compliance with updated policies.

The position requires strong knowledge of accounting standards, the ability to coordinate with the OCFO and program offices, and the preparation of reports for senior management and Congress.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours in business law).
• Certification as CPA or CIA obtained through exam.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience with proof of accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review financial and management reports and advise executives on trends and adjustments.
• Coordinate resolution of accounting issues arising from legislation, regulations, and standards; revise policies and reports accordingly.
• Research and develop accounting policies; design and evaluate procedures to meet program needs.
• Maintain relationships with OCFO and program offices to support reporting systems.
• Create reports for senior management and respond to congressional or agency inquiries.

Education

Accounting degree + 24 credit hours in accounting
