Job summary

City of St. Joseph is seeking a Facilities Manager to direct operation, maintenance, repairs, and improvements of City-owned facilities.

You will develop preventative maintenance programs, supervise maintenance staff, manage facility contracts and budgets, and ensure safe, reliable operation of municipal buildings. The role leads asset management, regulatory compliance, and capital planning, coordinating with department directors to minimize disruption and maximize asset life while delivering

Qualifications

• Three years’ related work experience required.
• Valid Missouri Driver’s License required.
• All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates maintenance operations for all City-owned buildings and facilities.
• Supervises maintenance personnel assigned to various City departments and establishes work priorities and performance expectations.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all City facilities, including HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
• Oversees work order management and establishes service level expectations for maintenance response.
• Maintains facility asset inventories and replacement schedules.
• Develops policies, procedures, and standards for facility maintenance operations.
• Coordinates contracted maintenance services and capital improvement projects.
• Collaborates with department directors to prioritize maintenance projects and minimize disruption to City operations.
