Job summary

The City of St. Joseph is seeking a Facilities Manager to plan, direct, and oversee operation, maintenance, and improvement of City-owned facilities.

You will implement preventive maintenance programs, supervise staff, manage contracts, and ensure safe, reliable operation of municipal buildings and infrastructure. Responsibilities include budgeting support, coordinating services (HVAC, elevators, security, janitorial), and developing capital improvement plans to extend asset life while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Missouri Driver's License required.
• All applicants must pass drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
• Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and managing maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate maintenance operations for City-owned buildings.
• Supervise maintenance personnel across City departments and set priorities.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance for HVAC, roofs, plumbing, electrical, elevators, and more.
• Oversee work orders and service level expectations for maintenance responses.
• Coordinate contracted maintenance services and respond to facility emergencies.
• Develop short- and long-range facility maintenance and capital improvement plans.
