Children's Hospital Association in Washington, DC is seeking a senior events manager to lead a portfolio of conferences and meetings. The role oversees strategic, financial, and operational success, balancing priorities, finances, stakeholder expectations, and attendee experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in complex meetings or event portfolios
• 2+ years negotiating hotel contracts and terms
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and risk mitigation skills
• Ability to influence across organizational levels

Responsibilities

• Own budget planning, forecasting, expense management for meetings and programming.
• Provide cost projections, monitor performance and identify financial risks.
• Evaluate results to drive continuous improvement and future planning.
• Lead RFP process for events including venue sourcing and bid analysis.
• Manage contracts exceeding $1M, ensuring terms and risk management.
• Oversee event contract compliance and vendor performance.
• Balance portfolios across team members by complexity and priorities.
• Monitor team performance and promote collaboration and productivity.
• Lead planning and execution of conferences and events to meet objectives.
• Partner with Brand & Communications to ensure CHA standards are reflected.
• Oversee on-site operations and attendee experience.
