Children’s Hospital Association in Lenexa, KS is seeking an experienced Event Services leader to oversee a portfolio of conferences and meetings. You will direct budgeting, RFPs, contract negotiations, and on-site execution to deliver exceptional attendee experiences.

The role requires 3+ years of managing complex events, 2+ years negotiating hotel contracts, and strong leadership across a multi-project portfolio. This is a hybrid position with in-office collaboration and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience managing complex meetings, conferences, or event portfolios.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience negotiating and managing hotel contracts, including terms and concessions.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources and budgets, and balance competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own budget planning, forecasting, expense management for meetings and programming exceeding $1.5M annually.
• Lead the RFP process for events, including venue sourcing, site visits, bid analysis, and recommendations.
• Manage contract negotiations exceeding $1M, ensuring terms, risk, and performance are aligned.
• Oversee on-site operations, staff guidance, and attendee experience across events.
• Supervise and balance workloads within the Event Services team; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Brand & Communications to reflect CHA branding and messaging.
