Job summary

Maymont in Richmond, Virginia seeks an Event Operations Manager to lead planning, development, and production of community and private events at the 100-acre estate. You will oversee the facility rental department, manage staff, and collaborate with special events teams to execute weddings, corporate events, and seasonal programs.

This role reports to the Director of Special Events and Event Sales, oversees budgets, ensures safety and regulatory compliance, and strives to improve venue

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, public relations, or closely related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in event sales.
• Working knowledge of the Greater Richmond Region desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage the facility rental department, including oversight of staff.
• Analyze rental trends and revenue performance to identify opportunities to grow weddings and corporate rentals.
• Solicit new corporate rentals by working with local businesses and community partners.
• Execute and cultivate strategies to increase wedding and rental revenue.
• Manage annual facility rental budget, monitor revenue and expenses, and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
• Ensure client rental spaces are maintained and report maintenance needs.
