Job summary

Abbott in Chicago is seeking an ESG Reporting Project Manager to support tender and contract analysis, identify ESG clauses, and contribute to Abbott's annual Global Sustainability Report.

The role requires a detail-oriented paralegal/contract management background, collaboration with legal, procurement, and sustainability teams, and strong MS Office skills. It is a 6-month, 100% onsite assignment with emphasis on data tracking and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or contract management certification or equivalent experience in contract administration or legal support.
• Experience reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing contracts, tenders, and RFP documents with ESG focus.
• Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Experience using MS Teams and SharePoint.
• Copy editing, writing, and proofreading technical or sustainability content.
• Familiarity with AI tools.
• Ability to collaborate with legal, procurement, and sustainability teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with strict timelines.
• Data management and tracking edits in Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents and RFPs to identify ESG requirements and support ESG responses.
• Analyze customer and supplier contracts for ESG clauses and evidence requirements; summarize findings for sustainability/legal teams.
• Maintain a tracker of ESG commitments and evidence; flag obligations aligned with Global Sustainability Report.
• Collaborate with procurement and legal to align ESG language with Abbott’s reporting frameworks.
• Capture, track, and review edits on all drafts of the Global Sustainability Report.
• Coordinate edits with Abbott’s creative agency and ensure integration into drafts.
• Lead copy editing for style guide compliance (spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax).
• Support development of report appendix (UNSDG, GRI, SASB indexes).
• Identify and implement continuous improvement in the process, including AI-based templates and trackers.
• Manage website updates and status for Abbott Sustainability site and 2027 report content.
