Job summary

Abbott Park, IL is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead environmental programs across acquisitions, remediation, and waste management. The role centers on data-driven strategy, and communicating complex issues to senior leaders while improving processes for future efficiency.

The position requires a strong technical background, 8+ years in environmental due diligence and remediation, and a focus on sustainability reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• Advanced degree and certifications in environmental management a plus.
• 8+ years of direct experience in environmental due diligence, remediation and waste management.
• Experience in acquisitions due diligence and identifying needed corrective actions with cost estimates.
• Experience in developing and implementing responses to environmental releases and managing waste disposal programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead environmental due diligence activities in support of acquisitions and divestitures.
• Lead, develop plans and implement environmental remediation projects for immediate responses to environmental incidents as well as remediation related to historical events.
• Lead Abbott waste management programs to ensure proper waste management to prevent future liabilities and drive improved waste management practices.
• Evaluate environmental performance data to identify opportunities and improvement plans to drive toward Abbott long term goals.
• Provide environmental content supporting Abbott sustainability report and other environmental external reporting.
