The New York Times Company is seeking a Program Manager to help lead and evolve the foundational technology that powers how work gets done across the company. This hybrid role is based in New York City, with an expected three days in the office each week.

You will partner with Technology, Cybersecurity, and business leaders to enable our mission of independent journalism and to support HR, Finance, newsroom, and operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing technical projects with multiple simultaneous projects.
• Experience with Agile and waterfall development practices and Jira and other project management tools.
• Comfortable leading large meetings and keeping groups on topic.
• Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead a complex mix of projects from initiation to closure with clear priorities.
• Run meetings, outline takeaways, and assign tasks with leadership.
• Create project metrics and status reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments and advocate for their needs.
• Identify risks, inform stakeholders, and develop mitigation plans.
• Drive continuous improvement and post-project retrospectives.
• Demonstrate commitment to journalistic independence.
