Job summary

GCI seeks a Principal Architect to own order-to-activate, fulfillment, provisioning, assurance, billing, support and OSS/BSS, plus AI-enabled automation. The run-the-business architect will define, communicate, govern, and advance architecture direction in support of business outcomes, technology modernization, and long-term objectives.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and relevant work experience to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Data Management, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architectures, roadmaps, and transition states guiding technology investment and implementation.
• Create architecture artifacts, models, standards, patterns, reference designs, and design guardrails.
• Participate in architecture reviews and governance forums applying standards and industry practices.
• Mentor architects and technical staff; develop documentation, templates, and guidelines.
• Partner with product, delivery, engineering, and operations to provide architecture guidance.
• Support road mapping, dependency management, and alignment to architecture outcomes.
• Improve architecture methods, tools, governance, and operating models.
