Job summary

SMX seeks a qualified Solution Architect to collaborate with technical teams to document design and implementation of secure, modular cloud architectures.

The role involves providing technical assistance during the software development lifecycle, drafting design and operational documentation, and guiding data migration from on-premises to cloud environments. Active Top Secret clearance and AWS certification are required; salary range is $105,100–$175,000 USD.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience in a solution architect or related role.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• AWS certification.
• Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Deep familiarity with cloud architecture, including hybrid multi-cloud target architectures and operating models.
• Experience with data migration from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Experience with AI code conversion and GenAI-related code quality tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A self-starter who is detail-oriented, can work with minimal supervision, and consistently produces quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to document high-quality technological solutions and architecture models.
• Document system designs that feature open architecture, incorporating modularity to consolidate sub-systems into secure cloud environments.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to support development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write comprehensive design, sizing, and operational documentation.
• Analyze existing project scopes and processes to recommend and implement improvements.
• Leverage DevSecOps principles and stay current with new technologies and third-party applications to solve complex problems.
