Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking an Employee Relations expert to deliver enterprise-wide ER solutions, coaching managers and employees to resolve issues and ensure fair application of policies.

You will investigate complaints, counsel on corrective action, conduct trainings, and mentor junior ER professionals while partnering with HR Centers of Excellence to reduce risk and support a productive, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5+ years relevant work experience OR 9 years combined education and work experience.
• Experience consulting on ER issues and conducting/leading investigations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel, including overnight travel.
• Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, influencing, writing, and mediation skills.
• Critical thinking and agility in a dynamic environment.
• Self-motivated, well organized, and constantly learning.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations with significant impact.
• Deliver enterprise-wide ER solutions and consult leaders on complex issues.
• Counsel on corrective action and oversee termination processes as needed.
• Participate in investigations and regulatory complaints; represent the Bank as needed.
• Conduct trainings on ER topics and mentor junior ER staff.
• Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence on cross-functional matters.
• Provide reporting on ER interventions and outcomes.
