Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools seeks a Purchasing Manager to oversee all district purchasing functions, including bid openings, specifications, and bidding documents, with emphasis on compliance and efficiency.

Based at the Education Services Center, this full-time role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and procurement knowledge. Compensation is pay level 9 with experience-based wage placement.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced organizational and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of procurement statutes, joint purchasing contracts and purchasing thresholds (preferred).
• Experience in public education or private industry (5+ years) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all district purchasing functions, including bid openings, writing specifications, bidding documents and related legal notices.
• Review contracts for legal, insurance and technology compliance.
• Approve all district POs over the recommended amount.
• Provide audit support to Controller, Building/Grounds, Transportation and Food Service.
• Oversee School Board Elections.
