Job summary

Great Hearts Texas seeks a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead treasury, accounting, reporting, planning, and controls across our network of schools. You will partner with the Superintendent, Board, and headmasters to steward resources, optimize cash flow, and strengthen financial sustainability.

The role demands building a high-performing finance team, modernizing systems, ensuring audit readiness, and delivering clear, data-driven recommendations to support educational mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Progressively responsible finance leadership experience in complex organizations.
• Experience rebuilding or strengthening teams and executing financial strategy.
• Experience with audit readiness, compliance, and multi-site finance.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the finance organization with clear goals and accountability.
• Oversee accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, payroll, and receivables.
• Modernize financial systems, evaluate platforms, and drive adoption.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and long-term financial planning.
