Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to supervise all district business and finance operations, including budget planning, accounting, payroll, grants, risk management, and BI. The CFO serves as financial advisor to the Superintendent and Board, ensuring accurate reporting and sound financial strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required.
• Master’s degree in a business-related field preferred.
• CPA or TASBO CTSBO/RTSBA preferred.
• 10 years in business administration with 500+ employees.
• 5 years in Texas public school business management at Director level or above.
• Experience leading departmental teams and presenting data to leadership/board.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial and budget reports to Superintendent and Board.
• Develop long- and short-range financial objectives.
• Lead needs assessments for growth and improvements in district operations.
• Ensure internal controls and safeguarding assets.
• Coordinate audits with external and internal auditors.
• Oversee the Grants & Development Department.
• Maintain district investment portfolio.
• Support strategic leadership and student-learning focus.
• Ensure compliance with TEA, PEIMS, EDGAR, and Public Funds Investment Act.
